5 a.m., dreamy horizons and pleasantly painful fingers from guitar strings.
My Puerto Rico.

Music & Puerto Rico
The most predominant export of Puerto Rico is its music. It is the music which makes Puerto Rico a highly distinctive and enchanted world destination. While walking the streets of the island everyone could notice that music is highly rooted not only in Puerto Rican culture and traditions, but also in their everyday living and routine. No doubt Puerto Ricans are crazy about its musical rhythms and its different fusions thus soaking this island in a non-stoppable flow of life and passion. For this reason Puerto Rico can boast itself for having many high-profile music artists, each being unique with its own style and variations. Each being a filter of diverse Puerto Rican, Caribbean and Latin music and taking the best it can offer.
Puerto Rican is a country full of contrasts and shades. From its very origins it has been a mix of cultures; Spanish, African, and Taino. So it is no surprise that its music is also a mix. Puerto Rican music is also highly influenced by surrounding countries like the Dominican Republic, Cuba, etc. Therefore my mosaic of music is also influenced by other foregin music styles such as nova trova, merengue, vallenato, joropo, rumba flamenca and bossa nova. As an artist chooses colors and forms for its canvas so the musician looks for the richest and most amazing music pieces for its mosaic on the silence. My music is my lens and vision of versatile and enchanted Puerto Rico.
The most world wide known music of Puerto Rico is salsa which borrows different elements of Latin music. Although its roots go back to Cuba, salsa emerged in New York. It was branded internationally by the Puerto Rican community of New York and afterwards it gained high popularity in the island. Its name can be literally translated as the "sauce". It is the "sauce" of the parties and life since it is highly danceable, rhythmic and entertaining.
Puerto Rico wouldn‘t be Puerto Rico without a guitar. It is the guitar which gives the island moonlight and Spanish like romance. While listening to its different styles from Puerto Rican mountains to the ‘cast-away’ Cuban Nova Trova, the listener has a possibility to touch upon enchanting island‘s philosophy praising love and life. However, it is worthwhile a single time to listen than hundreds times to tell. Let me share with you my philosophy and vision of Puerto Rico.
